Howard “Bart” Freidman spoke to the LA Times wrote about flying cars and whether an “Uber of the air” could become a reality.  Freidman has a career creating disruptive technology, including the earliest e-commerce implementations for major brands like Nordstroms and mobility providers like Amtrak and Ryder Truck. And later he founded the firm that became Vonage Business.

“I’ve seen the difference in how a light regulatory approach (e-commerce) and a heavy-handed one (VoIP) radically alter the adoption curves, artificially doubling or even tripling the time it takes for new technologies to become mass market” says Freidman.  “Air travel is clearly (and with good reason) in the ‘heavy handed’ category and given that along with the sheer radicalness of flying cars and number of impacted players I don’t see this happening anytime soon. It certainly will happen – pretty much all the pieces are already in place. But what generation benefits from it is the big question.”
